A Little Bit of This, A Little Bit of That

So you know your weekend was boring relaxing when you go to get ready for work Monday and realize its the first time you are putting makeup on all weekend. And the first time you are leaving the house in a 24 hour period.

I still managed to take lots of pictures because well its me and I can't not take pictures, so expect a lot of babbling and a lot of random pictures.

Sami's Shenanigans  still being [molly]

So this weekend I did a little bit of this:

Yes that is a kiddie sprinkler underneath my hammock.
Red velvet cupcake with cream cheese icing... belated birthday cupcake.

I did a whole lot of this:

My breakfast sandwiches are so much better than McDonalds...guess thats not saying much though.
Red Pepper Shrimp Scampi, wine at dinner makes me feel like an adult.
Spicy roasted almonds...could not stop snacking on them.

For as much as I ate this weekend I did not do nearly enough of this:

One gym workout and one wii workout. When the wii mocks you, you know its time to step it up.

I probably didn't work out because I did a little too much this:

It just tastes so good when it hits your lips!

I also did this:

I am super happy with my bathroom organization and only spent $20 bucks doing so.

I found this metal basket in the office supply section of Target and it works out perfectly to hold all of my everyday essentials. And I hung command clips for all of my hair ties and headbands.

I also felt like a genius when it dawned on me that my baking soda would work out so much better in a salt shaker than in the big annoying box.
I use baking soda as a face scrub everyday so convenience is key.

So I have been itching to participate in the Monday Made It Link ups. BUT since I am writing curriculum all day I haven't really been dying to think about my classroom. So my Monday Made It (besides my genius salt shaker idea) is more of a tech program I used for Father's Day that I think I will use in the classroom this year.

As we all know Sunday was Father's Day but unfortunately my dad had weekend duty this weekend and in chemical plant speak that means he was on call all weekend and spent most of his time going back and forth between the plant. So I will actually see him this weekend, but I couldn't resist making him a silly card.  My personal computer does not have the Microsoft package so I was racking my brain trying to figure out where to make something.

Have you heard of Glogster?
It is a free website that allows you to make a poster of sorts full of music, pictures, text and video.
There is a educator version but why pay when you can use it for free.

Since I was mailing my dad a printed version I decided to forgo the music and video but I can think of so many ways students could add music or video to add more visual interest to a presentation.

Everything is labeled very clearly and the main 'technique' is dragging and dropping the items. At first it was a little frustrating to edit the text and work with the tools but once I got the hang of it, I realized it was incredible easy and with very little practice my students could be creating away.

Also students will need to set up an account, as is true with most online websites now days.

Here is the card I sent my Dad, its a whole lot cheesy but he loved it and that's what counts!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend, I can't wait to start getting inspired by all of the creative Monday Made Its.
