Currently I am just mystified about the overwhelming amount of posts, pinterest pins and instagram pics about Fourth of July...well everything.
Was everyone this over the moon about Fourth of July wear before the social media wave and I just am missing the red, blue and white gene?
I mean who has time or money to make decorations for one day?
When would you wear this again?
I don't have money to buy clothes for one day a year, perhaps I am in the minority.
I don't have money to buy clothes for one day a year, perhaps I am in the minority.
And who has the patience to do this?
Before you start throwing out terms like 'unpatriotic' on me:
I will be watching fireworks somewhere tomorrow;
wearing a blue dress;
with red nails;
and drinking from a red solo cup.
Still I just don't get it?!?
Something I do get, Farley's Currently Craze!
I mean it is only the 3rd and as a type this I am number 499 linking up. That is some craze I can get behind.

So without further ado...
Listening: We just made the switch from Time Warner to AT&T and I found CMT Pure Country by accident and probably have a new addiction. I have a large love of music videos.
Loving: Summertime. I mean really who isn't?
Sleeping until 11.
Random trips to Hobby Lobby and Target, sometimes twice a day.
Staying up late.
Hammock time.
Working out during the daytime.
If this is the life of a housewife, I could get behind this quick?!?

Thinking: I need to figure out how to work the new DVR box and remote,
TV and change are not something I handle well.
Probably a little sad to admit considering I am a Tech teacher and well normal people are not addicted to television shows as much as I am.
I think?!?
Wanting: I am pretty sure haircut was on my June currently but I have heed and hawed about this for weeks way to long and I am just calling today. Sadly my hair dresser takes like two weeks to get in so I will be lucky to get in before August.
Shopping is obvious.
One of my favorite things about teaching: back to school shopping!
Don't lie you get excited about this too!
But I also need a few more summer dresses for New York, I have heard its hot and humid in August.
Shopping is just never far from my thoughts.

Needing: To get back in school mode. I still have a few weeks of summer but I need to get back to working on TPT, classroom to do list and well getting my sleeping routine a little straightened out. Sigh, it all goes way to fast.
Tips, Tricks and Hints: I don't feel like I have been doing this long enough to offer much advice,
BUT
Commenting is something that creates 'friendships' and connections which is what I think most bloggers are looking for. I need to do more of it myself.
Share! Farley covered this enough in her post but I completely agree.
As a reader I like to get to know the bloggers and get bored seeing the same post everyday, but I realize everyone has a niche. I am niche-less and will be staying that way.
To each is own!

Take a break when you need to and don't feel guilty. Sometimes the real world gets in the way of me posting or sometimes I have nothing to say/don't feel creative. I don't beat myself up, this is supposed to be fun and the moment it feels like work I probably won't be back.
I already have a job, that pays me.
For a currently post this just got long quick, I babble what's new.
Can't wait to start jumping around and reading some of these currently's, if there is anyone still left link up so I am not last!
- The Babbling Box!
I was number 501 in Farley's Currently Linky... so you weren't last!! :-) I love how many people link up to it. She posted it a day early and there were already over 100 people linked up by the end of June 30th. I finally get mine up and now look!! LOVE IT! I totally agree with needing to get back into the school mode. I have less than a month of summer left. I agree with your thoughts on 4th of July. I don't have the time or money for all of that. At most, I make a cute patriotic dessert that I find on Pinterest, but I don't even think I am doing that this year. :-) Have a great 4th.
ReplyDeleteI wonder the same thing about fourth of July stuff! Where do people store all these items!:-) Very cool font on the CURRENTLY board. How'd (sorry I'm a TEXAN) you do that, smart girl!
ReplyDeleteI need to get back in the school mode too! I have so many things I want to get done before August! Love the patriotic nails, but I definitely would not have the patience for that!! :)

Oh my gosh, I LOVE the patriotic romper and nails! I'm not sure when you'd be able to wear the romper again but you would definitely stand out when you did wear it!
