This weekend speed by in a blur, like I seriously barely remember the drive home Friday night and suddenly I was hitting snooze this morning and less than pleased.
I did a lot of this:
cooking, cleaning, washing...and I certainly didn't end up with any glass slippers
I did lose a few dollars during the big game but not because I bet against the Seahawks...we were a little bored with the game and started betting what company would be the next commercial...always the life of the party.
Since my weekend was so...not worth writing about...I thought I would change it up today and link up with Farley for this month's currently.
Listening: As much as I have a love/hate relationship with trashy reality television I can't let go of my Bachelor addiction. Plus Juan Pablo's accent...well its one of those things that keeps a girl coming back for more. Sorry I'm not sorry.
Loving: Being a semester teacher is pretty amazing since I have the opportunity to get a new mix of students each semester. I have a ton of repeat students but the new mix of classes is creating a really good vibe right now and I am just rolling with it. Aka the crazies are spread out among classes and not just in one period.
I have been obsessed with the Poshmark app recently, turning my closet into some extra change...hopefully I will share more in tomorrows post.
Thinking: We start our second round of MOY testing tomorrow and I am not scheduled as a tester or monitor...some people might think this is awesome...I assure you its not. Generally it just means that whichever teacher decides they want to take a sick day I get to fill in for, which means I can't really prepare for what my role will be. Yay!
I haven't had my PDA's yet, we have rescheduled four times I think...I have lost count...and with the most recent snow day its been canceled again. I get being the elective teacher I am last on the list to be taken care of but the farther it gets pushed back the less control I feel I have over the whole thing. Letting go is not something I do easily.
Wanting: I participated in a raffle for a $1000 Target gift card last snow day and I basically have already spent all of the money in my head, cause that's normal, and redoing my bedroom is at the top of my list. Which has me sort of obsessing over new bedding and decorations every time I walk in the room...totally not jiving with my credit card goals for February.
Needing: To relax. Easier said than done...but I seriously need to. We have house guests coming Friday and I get serious Martha Stewart syndrome and feel the need to clean the entire house top to bottom. Reality is I have MOY testing, a hair appointment, a PBIS meeting and lesson to plans and of course there is grading. Then there are blog posts to write and comments to respond to..so I will need to let go of something or I will end up sick or exhausted before they even get here. Perhaps balance should be on my March goals...
2 Truths and a Fib:
1. My current job was my 175 job application, it was a rough summer for teachers. Truth.
2. I had four teeth on my top and bottom pulled when I was in the 4th grade...great school pictures. Truth.
3. I was not on the dance team in high school, despite my dance coach's displeasure, I had to choose between debate and dance and I went with debate. Fib.

There are so many things about this post that make me smile.. I feel like we share the same sarcastic nature and that makes my heart happy. :) First, accents can make anyone melt. My last name is Lopez for a reason... ;) Next, I'm glad you get to spread out the crazies between classes. Kind of jealous. In the wonderful life of 3rd grade, we have to keep ours forever, except for PE and lunch. Those may be 2 of my favorite times of the day. (And by may I mean they are!). Lastly, credit cards are meant to be charged. What good are they if you don't use them, right?!

I hear you on those job applications! A few years ago when I was looking for my current job, I had over 100 applications out there~ but you have me beat! Hopefully there are glass slippers out there for you somewhere. :)

I started to say...I was on the dance team in HS too! :) How painful...8 teeth. I've also never head of MOY??? Oh and I am just doing our bedroom. We built a new home in April and I got some bedding/cash (from Target) to complete it. Still a work in process! :) Found you through Farley!

8 teeth? That's worse than me getting braces on in 2nd grade and having to wear a head gear to school every day with short boy cut hair and my Brownie uniform. Go ahead and laugh...it was hideous! xo

I want to see your new hair!!!! Also, you can feel free to decorate our bedroom while you're at it. Our bed currently has no frame, and we use bedding from my mother which neither of us like because we can't agree on anything. Please tell me I'm not along in this!!!
